We use images, symbols, and objects to represent ourselves, express ideas, build relationships, and share beliefs. Through them, we construct ways of understanding ourselves and the world around us.
I am particularly interested in the power these objects have to condense meaning. Clothing, stained glass, or a digital avatar may appear simple in isolation, yet they can profoundly influence how we perceive what they represent. Once we become aware of that power, we can reinforce, transform, or even distort those meanings.
My work often begins with unexpected similarities between different systems, images, or behaviours. These ideas tend to remain unresolved, returning repeatedly until a clearer direction begins to emerge beyond their initial associations.
The deeper I look into these systems, the more unexpected parallels and shared structures begin to surface. This process helps me discover the form each idea needs to take, whether as an image, object, installation, or digital environment.
The resulting works do not offer explanations or fixed interpretations.
I encourage viewers to establish their own connections and participate in the same process of observation that gave rise to the work.
